The History of Kombucha Tea
The first written mention of what is believed to be Kombucha Tea dates back to 221 BC in China. Known as the “Tea of Immortality”, this amazing mushroom spread throughout the orient and middle east via trading caravans.
The name Kombucha is only one many names for this healing mushroom tea. The name kombucha comes from Japan, named after a Korean physician, dating back to 415 AD.
Kombucha History Around the World
Russian peasants have used a tea made from Chaga, a mushroom grown on birch trees. This tea had been used for hundreds of years as a cure for cancer. In the Alexandrove district, near Moscow, an area known for the use of Chaga tea, there are no reported cases of cancer.
